The U.S. edition of NOMAD will take place at the Watermill Center, the visionary arts institution founded by Robert Wilson. A sanctuary for experimentation and cross-disciplinary creation, the Center’s legacy aligns with NOMAD’s mission to foster cultural dialogue and artistic innovation. For this inaugural East Coast edition, international galleries will present curated exhibitions of collectible design and contemporary art throughout this unique site, accompanied by a program of talks, events, and special visits.
Within its exhibition space, Maison Gerard will present a selection of contemporary furniture, lighting, ceramics, glass, painting, and sculpture by an international roster of artists and designers, including Kepa Akixo (Zigor), Guy Bareff, Niamh Barry, Michela Cattai, Marino Di Teana, Carol Egan, Yongjin Han, Aline Hazarian, Nicholas Howey, Ayala Serfaty, Bela Silva, and Osanna Visconti. Highlights include Barry’s hand-formed bronze Blade sconces, Bareff’s sculptural ceramic lighting and furniture, Serfaty’s bronze console and sculptural table lamp,
Silva’s monumental ceramic urn, and Egan’s distinctive sculptural furnishings and lighting. Maison Gerard will also present works by Osanna Visconti, the Milan-based artist whose first exhibition with the gallery opened in May 2026 to strong acclaim. Visconti’s sculptural bronze creations blur the boundaries between art, design, and nature through her mastery of the ancient lost-wax casting technique. At the center of the presentation will be an important grouping of furniture by the celebrated French architecture and design duo Guillerme et Chambron—Robert Guillerme (1913–1990) and Jacques Chambron (1914–2001). The installation will feature examples of the designers’ warm and functional modernism, including armchairs, an expansive sectional sofa, and rare multitasking desks that demonstrate their enduring influence on twentieth-century French design.
Complementing these furnishings will be abstract paintings by American artist Nicholas Howey, whose vibrant compositions introduce color and rhythm throughout the installation, alongside sculptural works by Basque artist Kepa Akixo (Zigor), French-Argentine sculptor Marino Di Teana, and Korean-American sculptor Yongjin Han. Exceptional handblown Murano glass sculptures by Michela Cattai further underscore the exhibition’s emphasis on material experimentation and artisanal excellence.
Further highlighting Maison Gerard’s commitment to contemporary craftsmanship will be works by Visconti. The presentation includes the monumental Bambù Screen, a striking room divider cast in bronze that evokes a grove of delicate bamboo canes through the artist’s signature lost-wax process; the sculptural Naturalismo Brassica bowl, inspired by the organic forms of nature and cast in bronze with a rich black patina; and Raggi, a bronze vase whose finely textured surface reflects Visconti’s enduring fascination with botanical forms and the transformative beauty of the natural world. Together, these works exemplify the artist’s ability to translate fleeting moments from nature into timeless sculptural objects.
Extending beyond the gallery’s interior, Maison Gerard’s room opens directly onto an outdoor space where two major sculptures will engage in dialogue with the Watermill Center’s landscape. Installed outdoors will be a monumental patinated steel sculpture by Marino Di Teana, and a large granite sculpture by Yongjin Han. Together, these powerful works embody a shared exploration of form, balance, and the relationship between art and the natural environment.
Bringing together contemporary innovation, master craftsmanship, and iconic twentieth-century design, Maison Gerard’s presentation at NOMAD Hamptons 2026 offers visitors a complete experience that reflects the gallery’s distinctive vision: a world in which historic and contemporary works coexist seamlessly and enrich one another through dialogue.
