Douglas Fanning's remarkable nesting tables have amorphous, burled walnut tops and rest upon legs of blackened steel. Considered as a whole, the beautifully abstract creation functions with an elegant simplicity befitting its form, working either as a coffee table when put together, or as a set of unified side tables when pulled apart. Made by hand, the assemblage is a work of supreme craftsmanship, representing a great deal of painstaking and expert labor.

Drawing from his knowledge of art and design (in addition to his architectural expertise), Douglas Fanning continually pushes the boundaries between form and physics to create clean, fluid, yet uncompromisingly daring pieces. In short, his multi-disciplined work harnesses a seamless creative dialogue between intellectual exploration and the organic realization of ideas.
