Biography

Over the last twenty years Nicolas Aubagnac has become renowned presence in the decorative arts.

In 1993 he graduated from the Parisian Ecole Nationale des Arts Appliquées with a degree in Interior Design. Fiercely independent, he opened his own studio in 1997 with Delphine Read, presenting a collection of lighting; in 2002 he gained international attention for the first time for his exhibit at PAD.

Since, his work has seduced connoisseurs and designers alike for its capacity to fit so seamlessly amidst art, artifact, and other pieces of contemporary design, and has landed in some of the most prestigious interiors around the globe.

Aubagnac has branched out steadily since his first successes. His furniture and accessories are built upon privileged relationships with talented artisans—men and women who honor and perpetuate the traditions of France’s fine craft tradition. His work is, after all, an embodiment of his convictions. Aubagnac believes exceptional pieces cannot be created without noble materials selected with the utmost care and assembled with the most precise and rigorous standards.

By pooling this outstanding reservoir of knowledge and passion for the arts, Nicolas Aubagnac has been able to design work that is no longer merely fashionable, but respected part of the decorative arts tradition.

His creations are presented throughout the year in Galerie Chevalier in Paris and at Maison Gerard in New York.
