Conjuring the sleek modern of the jet age, the Chauffeuse (or Fireside) 423 Chair has been re-editioned under the supervision of gallerist Anne Jacquemin Sablon. The original Fireside model was designed in 1961 by renowned French architect Maxim Old for the VIP lounge at the Marseille – Marignane air terminal. Upholstered in cream leather with a broad seat and back, the chair sits low on an angular base of dark stained oak.
