Description

Height: 14.75" - Diameter: 10"

Glazed high-fired stoneware

This vase is an example of "Jorraila" the specific Basque term used to define this particular technique, developed shortly after WWII. It involves engraving a design into stoneware, firing the piece once, then glazing the relief areas, and finally firing it a second time. Produced under the direction of Etienne Vilotte.

Stamped on base: "VE Ciboure". Inscribed on base: "Jorraila piece unique".
