Jean Prouvé, French designer, architect, and engineer, focused much of his energy in the postwar era on creating systems of mass production and modular construction that could bring functional design to a broader audience. This panel with twelve well-spaced portholes is not unlike those used to assemble his Maison Tropicale, a house designed for assembly in colonial West Africa.
