Description

Medium: Carved acacia wood and original glass top

Dimensions: 21.5 in high x 60 in wide x 32 in deep

This important two-tiered coffee table exhibits T.H. Robsjjoh-Gibbings' devotion to imagery from the classical age. Greek, Roman, and Near Eastern influences coalesce in the intricately carved ram's head and hooves at the base, as well as the acanthus-topped columns that support the glass.

Provenance:
This table was created for the Brentwood, CA home of architect James Dolena. Dolena and Gibbings worked closely during this period on several projects including the very well known home of Mrs. Hilda Boldt Weber, "Casa Encantada," for which Dolena was the architect.
