Laura Kirar took the Mexican Scarabe as inspiration for this whimsical side chair carved of ebonized Spanish cedar. With the piece's broad splayed legs the artist intimates those of the insect, and with its beautifully symmetrical, swirling back, the Scarabe's head and antennae.
