Description

Medium: Scavo glass with applications

Dimensions: 8 in high

Made in 1983 by Antonio Da Ros for Vetreria Gino Cenedese, this near opaque, turquoise vase possesses an elegant simplicity of form, and features an abstract, geometric relief that encircles its base. It was made with the rare scavo technique, by which glass is covered with carbonates, nitrates, and silica at extreme temperatures so as to seem like an artifact excavated from the earth.
