Lacquered wood, bronze, mirror top

Height: 19.75" - Diameter: 21.25"

This successful model of the great French designer André Arbus is comprised of an array of materials: parchment, lemon wood, and is finished with lacquer and bronze. The Mobilier National possesses a narrower bronze version of this gueridon, purchased after the Exposition of Paris 1937. 

Exhibited:

-Salon des Artistes Décorateurs, 1936. Similar gueridon presented by Arbus in a room for a young girl shown during this exhibition. 
-Exposition Internationale des Arts et Techniques de Paris, 1937. Similar gueridon presented by Arbus in Chambre de Madame, pavillon de l’architecture privée (Private architecture pavilion).
