This elegant pair of armchairs, designed by Lucien Rollin, exhibit his unbridled enthusiasm for wood, a quality that set him apart from his peers, designers such as André Arbus, Jacques Adnet and Jean-Charles Moreux.
Rollin carved his chairs into a series of subtle curves, which not only fit the human form perfectly, but please the eye from every angle. He added to this consistency of form by carving ornamental details into the wood that unite the chairs’ sides with the seats and the backs. The chairs are capped with pert wood ornaments, which breathe life into them by calling forth images of animals in nature.
